TRAY

A Japanese tray is called a bon. A bon can be named differently depending on the material used and its shape. Some are for snacks or tea, and can come in half circles or a fan shape. This diversity of form owes largely to the Japanese people's unique pursuit of aesthetics in their utensils, which comes from food culture such as chakaiseki (a simple meal eaten before tea is served). A bon is also endowed with an artistic aspect beyond being simply for carrying items.
