Nice but filter is too small. September 5, 2009

I love the idea and the look of this, but it doesn't really work with the included instructions when using the hot brew method.  The instructions say to fill halfway (500 ml) with water.  However, the filter basket hangs just above the 500 ml mark.  I have to fill it up to 700 ml in order to cover the tea leaves.

I have been using the handy cooler for over a year and I am very satisfied with it.  There is no plastic after taste in the tea.  Although the spout is slightly open, I don't think it affects tea brewing too much.  It's very elegant- everyone who has seen it at my place likes to have one, too!

Lid/Spout Not Air-Tight, Exposed to Air September 4, 2008

If you're thinking of buying this without seeing it in person you might want to know:

- The lid is polycarbonate/plastic material.
- The spout, when lid is closed, is still open and exposed to air.  I do not like that.  Store clerk said I should use saran wrap for complete closure to avoide loss of freshness or smell transfer. Yuck!
-   The built-in removable strainer is nice, but it's also constructed of poly/nylon materials.  I do not like. . .
-   It looks very delicate and pretty.
-   Tastes fine, no plasticky smell yet.
-   Not tested by me with hot water yet.  Only used for cold brew so far.
