The smell of this tea is both rich and smoky. When it hits my tongue there is a rich, lively astringent feel. This reminds me of a mild version of lapsang Souchong, but not too strong. There is some citrus in the background and even some floral notes as you sip it slowly- grapefruit perhaps. Surprisingly, when I added milk to the brew the smoky smell and flavor got even stronger. Make sure to read the brewing times on this one. I brewed it for 2 and 1/2 minutes the first time,then 1 and 1/2 the second and it was definitely a better flavor. This is a good tea for someone who likes a smoky flavor but finds lapsang too strong.
